Mascot Town Centre: Our urban future?

Sydney Walking Tour

Can the transit-oriented development model in Sydney deliver its promise for a healthier, more connected and liveable urban life? By walking in the shoes of locals, this tour will experience the successes and challenges of one of Sydney’s first TOD’s, Mascot Town Centre. Lessons for creating better urban places will be investigated with tour guides Deena Ridenour, Senior Lecturer Urban Design and Professor Peter Phibbs.

Deena Ridenour is an urban designer with 18 years professional experience gained in Australian and the United States. She has considerable experience delivering urban design excellence on both private and public projects. 

Professor Peter Phibbs is a geographer, planner and social economist with extensive experience in program evaluation, financial analysis and cost benefit analysis. He has over twenty years’ experience undertaking housing research. Currently he is the Head of Urban and Regional Planning and Policy at the University of Sydney and Director of the Henry Halloran Trust.
