Myth: Not-for-profits (NFPs) aren't real property developers

Who is responsible for providing affordable housing? And how can we maximise housing supply from not-for-profit developers? David Cant, CEO of Brisbane Housing Company (BHC), Australia's largest NFP developer, will highlight the significant role that NFP housing developers can play. Joined by panelists Janelle Goulding City West Housing, Robert Pradolin Frasers Property Australia (Formally Australand) and Carrie Hamilton Associate, Housing Action Network.

The session will be chaired by Professor Peter Phibbs, Head of Faculty of Architecture, Design and Planning, Director of Henry Halloran Trust, The University of Sydney.

David Cant-BHC CEO. David has been working in the social and affordable housing industry for over 35 years. He is fiercely dedicated to addressing the need for affordable housing in Australia. David completed a degree in politics and economics at Oxford University and Town Planning at the University College, London.

Janelle Goulding- City West Housing CEO. Janelle has extensive industry experience in housing and development in both the public and private sector working with organisation such as BlueCHP and Housing NSW. Her goal is to make a significant contribution to affordable housing, so more people have a place to call home.

Robert Pradolin- Australand GM. Robert has a background in Civil Engineering. At Australand for over 17 years, Robert has been working to create viable, denser and more affordable buildings.

Carrie Hamilton- Associate, Housing Action Network. Ms Hamilton is an affordable housing finance expert and city planner, with 20 years experience in the United States and Australia.
